Merry Christmas

It has been too long since I have posted on my blog. Time gets away from me....fast. I have been busy making homemade garland for my Christmas tree and table top.

This is just old book pages cut into strips, glued and then dipped in glitter. I added old lace just before stringing them on jute cord.

Cut and sewed linen and then added beads.

Jeff and I took two trips in the fall. One to Williamsburg Virginia and the other to Charleston, South Carolina. We had never been to either place. Lots of history and a civil war battle re-enactment.

More garland and my new fluffy owl. Merry Christmas to all.

Vacation Days

Our vacation to Mackinac Island was great. Perfect weather and a ferry ride to the island. We went with our son, Matt, and his family.

Once on the island we walked to the Grand Hotel. The lobby is unbelievable as well as the grounds surrounding the hotel.

Next was a day trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where my best friend, Bebe, and her husband have a summer place. They just bought a new boat and we had quite a ride. Toured the lake and saw amazing homes. Bebe had a book that told of the homes history.

Hey, I finally finished my crocheted purse.

Thanks to Karen for hosting the WWC party. This is where I spend a lot of my free time when I am not working as a librarian or playing with grand kids. I love all sorts of crafts and learning new things. And also checking on all of your blogs where I get  lots of inspiration.

This room is bright and  feels comfortable.

I have a real love for all crafts, especially embroidery work.

Tea towels

I have also been working on "Locker Hooking" a rug of left over fabric.

I also do a lot of knitting and crocheting. Crocheting is my favorite and I have been working on rugs.

Also a crocheted purse.

I made this paper wreath out of my favorite hymns from our Sunday bulletins. I added some of my favorite buttons from my large collection.

Linens are another thing I collect. I have many of my mother's.

I like to collect crochet hooks, knitting needles and hat pins.

I took several basket weaving classes and have made over 200 baskets.

I love to read books and also all those very cool Somerset publications.

I have made several paper flower wreaths, burlap wreaths and runners and crocheted chair mats.

Two tired retrievers (Jack and Oscar) after a big walk. Thanks for visiting my blog. Wished I had a better camera and could take better pictures. Maybe next year. Thanks again and come back for a visit. And for all of you younger mom's check out my daughter's blog athttp://copperpotblog.blogspot.com/

Plants and more Plants

Monday is the day I water the plants.
This Monday there are triple the amount I had last week. I love ferns. Below picture shows "Foxtail, Button and Air Ferns."

I went to a very cool greenhouse and also to the "Gardenology Fair" this week-end in Geneva. Lots of tips on how to create, grow and maintain your plants and garden.

One of my favorite plant is the "Muehlenbeckia Complexa" or better known as the "Angel Vine." I really have good luck with these so I bought 10 of them.
Also love "African Violets."

Hubby stopped at a antique shop on the way home and bought me this table to help hold  some of my new plants.
Outside the plants are really beautiful thanks to such a warm spring.
Yes I started another crocheted rug. I work on it in between watering all these plants.
